This is me with one of only 800 copies of the Bible in the Sakari language. Honestly, it was a holy movement grasping this book. Even my co-workers were drooling over it. It’s not fancy. No gold leaf.
But it’s special.
As he stepped into our communications office, my Strategic Frontiers missionary friend handed our team this Bible after returning from a 2 week outreach in South Asia. This Bible was translated by a Muslim man into his own language after Jesus appeared to him in a dream. Jesus, Himself! Radical right?! Now, this newly translated BIBLE is being distributed to his tribe, in an area where there is no Bible in their language.
But that’s not the whole story.
It was 10 years ago when a student came to do a Discipleship Training School here in East Texas at YWAM Tyler. With a desire to go even deeper with God, he received more training in our School of Strategic Missions. It was there he heard about a people group in one of the hardest places on earth to share the Gospel. Full of prayer and tears, but no hesitation, he said, “YES! I WILL GO!”
I’ve met him! He’s brave and loves Jesus. His obedience has changed everything⏤but not without many trials.
My friend answered the call to GO, and he went believing God to move. Starting with soccer for kids, his influence grew. Though loved by the children, he was interrogated by the conservative Muslim men of the community. Holding to their laws, my friend was at the point of execution, when he turned to them and said, "If you kill me, your children will not forgive you, because they do love me." It was critical turning point for these leaders and my friend's life was spared.
He began teaching English and later hosted business seminars using biblical principles for leadership. People flocked to be trained. After gaining trust over many years, he’s reaching key leaders in places of influence.
The Muslim man who saw Jesus in his dream translated this Bible. He is one of the men being discipled by my friend in this nation.
It’s starts with one person willing to say, "YES, I will follow You, Jesus, wherever you take me and I believe nations can be transformed."
