GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY

Sitting on 300 acres of grass may seem pretty profitable if you're into selling hay. We had sold it before, but when the pandemic hit we knew God wanted us to do something to bless others rather than ourselves.

Chris Lascelles pitched the idea of giving away all of the hay from our campus, and of course we said, LET'S DO IT!

When the coronavirus hit many were struggling and losing their jobs, we felt God's compassion for our local area, but what could we do?

The phrase that came to us was⎼"What do you have?"

People were giving what they had away. We looked around at our fields of grass. We had the hay equipment, and realized we could give hay away to local farm families in need.

It's been really fun meeting these families to encourage them and pray with them.

They've brought what they had to give. One family came all the way from Arkansas. All they had to give was a bag of sea shells. My daughter took them and thought of an art project to use the shells. Some brought soap and goat cheese.

The spirit of giving was really encouraging.

We've given away about 4,300 bales of hay.

Here is a great story our local new station CBS 19 covered:

EAST TEXAS ORGANIZATION DONATES HAY TO FARMERS

YWAM Tyler seeks to bless those around them. It's ingrained in the values of our ministry to seek out and meet the needs of others as Christ would. From around the world to our own backyard we are blessed to be a blessing. Come join the movement God is doing on the earth and begin your journey in a Discipleship Training School.
