Recently we had a couple schools graduate from YWAM Tyler. Here's what the students had to say about their five-month training time!
I feel like I am a different person from when I began DTS (Discipleship Training School) in January. I am so eager to serve God with the rest of my life, in whatever way He calls. Currently, I'm feeling the call to save up to go to YWAM's School of the Bible and study to be a teacher of the Bible. I remember giving a message to the church at El Puente about discipleship.Teaching that message was one of the highlights of my outreach, and the encouragement from the people, who talked to me about it afterwards, was absolute confirmation. ~ Daniel Camomile ~ DTS Graduate.
God made this time awesome because He made me brave to love and follow Him. Most of time during SOE (School of Evangelism) I had hard time with my weakness, but I learned how to trust God and follow Him, with my awesome friends and leaders. They are amazing God’s people. The past 5 months have been the best ever in my life! DTS changed my life forever! I needed to change things about myself; I needed to know God, our Father and Creator for myself. I experienced God in a deeper level here at YWAM. I can say now that I know who God is and who I am in Him.. I can truly say that it was one of the best days of my life, walking across our YWAM Tyler stage and receiving my diploma. I was in such complete awe of what God had done; all I could do was laugh. I didn’t cry, I laughed. God has redeemed so much; grown me into more of who He created me to be, and loved me so fiercely over the last ten months with YWAM that I cannot begin to describe it all in words. The feeling of living a life that is fulfilling by living for Jesus is still mind boggling to me, but it’s starting to make sense. My heart says a big YES to Jesus more than anything now, and I am so thankful that God has used all of these lovely friends and family to be the ones who walked the journey with me! These have been the best and most influential 5 months of my life. Thank you to the staff who guided me along the way and my friends who were my shoulders to cry on and the ones who laughed at my jokes sometimes. That's only a small piece of what you guys mean to me. I love you all so so so much. I'll see some of you at SOE in a few weeks! It's a joy to hear how God is at work in the lives of those who participated in our training schools at YWAM Tyler. As one of the students said above, DO A DTS! It'll change your life in a dramatic way! Taking time to get to know God and discover your part in making Him known in our world is well worth it!
