Sharing The Gospel Isn't Complicated

Written by Tyler Tom | 3 Nov 2023

God has been doing amazing things with our DTS team on outreach in Thailand. As the team has made themselves available, God has opened doors for them to speak the truth and build relationships with people living in local villages. The testimony you are about to read is just a glimpse of how the Lord uses us to be His hands and feet to ensure that those who need Him know they are seen and loved.

“Our team was doing street evangelism in a small village in the mountains in Thailand. We were invited into a home to talk to a few women. They were so excited to have visitors and were curious about where we were from. We shared where we were from and our names with them and explained that we were missionaries telling people about Jesus. The family matriarch started asking questions about who Jesus was, and I got the opportunity to share the gospel with her. I started from the beginning at creation, and had yet to get very far when she told our translator that she did know who Jesus was. She remembered hearing about him before and wanted to hear more. Her enthusiasm to hear more was so encouraging and heartwarming.

As I shared the gospel message, I explained how much God loves her and wanted to have a relationship with her. I felt so much compassion for her as I was speaking. After sharing the gospel with her, we asked if she wanted to invite Jesus into her heart. She enthusiastically said, 'Yes!'

We prayed for her, and as we did so much compassion and joy filled the room. The Holy Spirit came over the woman, and she began to weep. We asked how she felt afterward, and she said she felt peace. She told our translator that she had been waiting five years for someone to come and share the gospel with her again. It was a blessing and honor for God to send us to share with her.”

Do you remember what it was like when someone shared Jesus with you? As Christians, we are called to be active pursuers and bring hope to the hopeless. You might not travel to another country, but you can be the light wherever you go. God wants to partner with you in spreading the gospel. Like the team in Thailand, if you are open, honest, and available, God will open doors no man can shut.
