Every one of our staff who has gone to the Border has heard and seen difficult things. Cartels kidnapped a married couple with a young son and held them captive for eight days without food or water.

The couple broke a window and made a desperate escape, and the wife sustained lacerations on her forehead.
They walked five more days across Mexico. When our team members saw them, she had a shirt tied around her head.
One of our medical personnel said the woman would need plastic surgery to repair the damage.
A team that was there recently had Renee, who is a beautician, with them. She gave many haircuts and discovered one of the migrants was a barber.
She gave him all of her scissors and supplies so he could continue haircuts after the team left.
The team gave out clothing, did face painting, a puppet show, nail painting, and enjoyed playing with the kids.
Anyone who works with the kids always finds it hard to leave them.
A church sent a team down with us to run Vacation Bible School for the kids at the Border. They are so hungry for Jesus and love to be with us.
They wait outside for us to pick them up. One evening we saw three teens running after the van, trying not to miss us!
During a debriefing time, our team leader asked the team if it was anyone's first time going on an outreach.
One of the young men said, "Me, unfortunately." I asked him, "Why unfortunately?" And he said, "Because I wish I would have done more sooner."
Our team leaders can definitely see that each person who goes to the Border with us, from the youngest to oldest, has been impacted.
