When I first started traveling as a YWAM missionary, I was in my early 20's and had no children. I remember more than one well-meaning person telling me it was good I was "getting it out of my system" while I was young because once I had kids, I would no longer be able to travel in missions but would instead need to settle down. I guess God had other plans though because I now have five children under the age of twelve and I am involved in traveling on outreaches as much or more than I ever have been. I am amazed at what God has enabled me to do with five children in tow! Here are some examples:

Finding Jesus Right in our Backyard
By Kriya Herzog on 27 Oct 2017
As a YWAM missionary, I have been to multiple countries and states and love the adventure of traveling on a mission to share Jesus with those in need! I especially have a passion to serve the poorest of the poor, and I love to worship God in what others would consider unreached places and sin cities.

The Most Interesting Things I've Seen On My YWAM Outreaches
By Kriya Herzog on 13 Oct 2017
My missionary travels have taken me to six different countries and most of the fifty states! There's a misconception that says if someone commits their life to Christ, they'll have to give up having fun in exchange for a boring monotony of endless church services. After twenty-two years of walking with God daily, I can say with all of my heart that nothing could be further from the truth! I've seen things on my missionary journeys with God that were often awe-inspiring, sometimes hilarious, and sometimes terribly heartbreaking, but not a one of them was boring! Here are some examples of things I've seen.....

You don't need to go to Saudi Arabia to be a YWAM Missionary!
By Kriya Herzog on 6 Sep 2017
According to a 2015 Pew Research Center estimate, there are roughly 1.8 billion Muslims in the world today, and Islam is supposedly the world's fastest growing major religion. Many Christians have a heart to see Muslims reached with the good news of Jesus, but let's face it, the task can seem daunting. After all, Saudi Arabia isn't where most of us go on vacation, and Iraq isn't exactly in our neighborhood!

Adventures In Street Evangelism
By Kriya Herzog on 5 Jul 2017
I used to say street evangelism wasn't something I was called to do. I didn't like the way I'd seen it done or been pressured to do it. I had no interest in shouting at people on street corners, telling them they were going to hell. I also didn't enjoy awkwardly handing out cheesy tracts. Things have changed for me though. Now, I love street evangelism and find myself addicted to it! I cannot help but talk to people about Jesus and pray for people everywhere I go. I even tell people that it's what I do for fun! What changed for me then?

Louder and Stronger
By Kriya Herzog on 31 May 2017
A few years ago, I began to develop seasonal allergies. It got so bad my vocal chords were actually damaged. For a time my voice hurt all day, every day. As a worship leader, it was very sad for me because I could barely sing. Yet singing worship songs is my favorite thing to do!
