What an Ice Cream Cone Taught Me About Relationships

By Tyler Tom on 19 Jul 2019

It’s been exhausting, amazing, hard, and difficult, but I am thankful for every step taken and the people I get to do this with. I am thankful for the people praying and supporting financially. I am thankful for the transformation God is doing in mine and other's lives. I am thankful for God allowing us to be a vessel for Him.

By Tyler Tom on 16 Nov 2018

This Saturday we will celebrate with our most recent Discipleship Training School, "The School of Good News," at our quarterly Love Feast gathering. The students have returned back to YWAM Tyler's Twin Oaks campus with great God-stories from their outreaches to the East Coast of America, Guatemala, and Mexico. Here are a few special moments highlighted from their trips. God is winning in the nations. 🤩

From Comfort Zone \\ To Divine Absurdities

By Allison Bice on 10 Oct 2018

I still owed $750 on tuition, and the $1,000 for the outreach plane ticket was due that day as well. The trip to Greece was in just three weeks, and I was going to need an additional $2,000 on top of the airline ticket. I had no idea where this money was going to come from. Basically, I was freaking out.

Enchanted Lakes | Redeeming Communities

By Tyler Tom on 3 Aug 2018

Like many of our communities in America, a once very vibrant neighborhood has experienced un-welcomed change. When we first released the following story of Enchanted Lakes, many generalizations were made about this community, which we realized shouldn't have been made.

We reach out to communities all over the world, bringing the hope and light of Jesus. Enchanted Lakes is a community we love and care about and will continue to encourage through ongoing service.

Fear didn't hold me back to evangelize on the streets of Thessaloniki

By Tyler Tom on 27 Jun 2018

During my School Of Evangelism (SOE), we traveled to Greece and Kosovo for outreach. It was a night to evanglize in the City of Thessaloniki. Evangelism is a time to freely allow the Lord to guide and direct our steps in a time and place. So as I was walking in the square with a group of people, I felt the Lord tell me to go to the other side of the square to a bench with two men sitting on it. Knowing the Lord was directing me there and not wanting fear to hold me back, I quickly crossed the square to sit with them and started a conversation.

Sometimes Following God Doesn't Make Sense

YWAM Tyler is building Dome Houses in Haiti

By Tyler Tom on 5 Jan 2018

I believe poverty has no place in the Kingdom of God. Scripture tells us that the Church's mandate to preach the gospel also includes meeting the needs of the poor.

In recent years God has been stirring my heart with the desire to develop low-cost, space-efficient housing to meet the needs of people in impoverished communities around the globe. This has led me to develop a revolutionary house design, which I have now built as a prototype in the AgTech department of YWAM Tyler.

Risking Our YWAM Outreach Success Over 6 Bibles

By Alyssa Rosser on 10 Nov 2017

A little over a year ago I was co-leading an outreach to Greece for a School of Evangelism trip. This was my fourth time to Greece in the five years I had been with YWAM Tyler. For those who don’t know, Greece is 98% Greek Orthodox which basically means they know who God is but don’t know about having a relationship with Him. In current times, Greece has been in an economical crisis which has most of the population unemployed and without hope for the future of the country. What a perfect time to spend a summer going around the country, telling people about the hope that is found in Jesus and what it’s like to have a real relationship with Him.

The Most Interesting Things I've Seen On My YWAM Outreaches

By Kriya Herzog on 13 Oct 2017

My missionary travels have taken me to six different countries and most of the fifty states! There's a misconception that says if someone commits their life to Christ, they'll have to give up having fun in exchange for a boring monotony of endless church services. After twenty-two years of walking with God daily, I can say with all of my heart that nothing could be further from the truth! I've seen things on my missionary journeys with God that were often awe-inspiring, sometimes hilarious, and sometimes terribly heartbreaking, but not a one of them was boring! Here are some examples of things I've seen.....

As a missionary, "I Will Go" is something I say a lot.

By Jenna Dorey on 11 Oct 2017

This summer I spent 5 weeks teaching and doing ministry in the nation of Nicaragua.

11 months ago, at the beginning of my School of the Bible, I felt God ask me to be willing to go to Nicaragua for the summer. I said yes, and several months later Nicaragua became an outreach location option for my school. We had enough students wanting to go, so we started planning!

On Outreach with YWAM Anything Can Happen

By Tyler Tom on 22 Sep 2017

Outreach stories always offer the best memories for faith and fun. No two stories are the same, and for good reason. In the journey, we all need to laugh a little and be encouraged with the fact that God cares about the little things and deeply loves us all.

You don't need to go to Saudi Arabia to be a YWAM Missionary!

By Kriya Herzog on 6 Sep 2017

According to a 2015 Pew Research Center estimate, there are roughly 1.8 billion Muslims in the world today, and Islam is supposedly the world's fastest growing major religion. Many Christians have a heart to see Muslims reached with the good news of Jesus, but let's face it, the task can seem daunting. After all, Saudi Arabia isn't where most of us go on vacation, and Iraq isn't exactly in our neighborhood!
