A Year for God

By Elsa Hlady on 2 Feb 2023

Someone somewhere said, "You can do anything for a year!" If God asked you to give a year of your life for discipleship and missions, what would your answer be? Elsa, a graduate from Discipleship Training School said, "It starts with a sparkle, a thought, a desire for more. Dreaming of adventure, seeking an uncertain purpose. A will to serve, a thirst for deeper understanding."

How You Know You're A Missionary

By Tyler Tom on 7 Oct 2022

No one says it quite like Darlene Cunningham, co-founder of the largest mission organization on the planet — Youth With A Mission. In her book, Values Matter, the following excerpt makes us as "ywamers," laugh, ponder, and even cry. We think you'll get a kick out this too and perhaps hear God calling you to step out in faith to follow Him to ends of the earth.

_____

Recently, I was pondering some of the unique ways God has equipped YWAM to be a visionary pioneer movement. He has called us to continually be receiving, nurturing and releasing fresh vision from God. Thoughts began to cascade from my mind faster than I could write them down:

Easter Sunday on the Mediterranean

By Abby Gilliland on 15 Apr 2022

When I woke up on Easter morning, I saw the Mediterranean Sea glistening in the sunlight.I was on my School of Evangelism outreach in the Middle East. It was a memorable experience to see what it was like celebrating a holiday in another country, especially one so different from what I am used to in America.

Waking Up to Weapons

By Tyler Tom on 28 Mar 2018

The icy winter wind had howled all night long outside our uninsulated rental house near Santiago, Chile. As the dawn broke, two students, Carlos and José, emerged bleary-eyed from their sleeping bags, quietly slipped into warm clothes, and headed out into the dark for an early quiet time with the Lord.

Most everyone wants to travel the world, right? There's something adventurous buried deep within our DNA. YWAM DTS | An Encounter That'll Change Your Life

By Amy Fish on 20 Dec 2017

At the beginning of 2018, a new adventure will begin for many. People from around the world will gather together to do a Discipleship Training School (DTS). Each student arriving will have different goals. Some simply want to know God more because they’re hungry for a deeper walk with Jesus. Others will come with a desire for fresh perspective. They want to experience God in a new way and within a different culture, seeing the beauty of His creation in this world. Then there will be those that need change. Life has beat them up; choices haven’t always been the best; wounds have left them internally bruised. They’re longing for more. No matter the reason, DTS is a great opportunity for fulfilling one’s heart desires.
